Answer 1 :
atlanta is delta's hub , try some roundtrip fates... or southwest try airtran as well.... one of good options would be to visit travelocity or hotwire if you're looking for real good deals.. but beware they have a catch.. as well... make sure you know what type of tkt you are buying...
Answer 2 :
For this weekend, and the coming weekends in February, the cheapest with 3 seats together currently is $189 round trip with Airtran. http://www.airtran.com If you also need hotel or car, then it's often cheaper with http://us.lastminute.com -- this weekend for $231 per person with a mid-size car from Avis, plus flights with Delta on Fri-Tues.
Answer 3 :
you should be able to get a good price even though it is last minute. to cut through the deals, you should check out http://www.travelcuse.com to book your trip. the site is an aggregator which means it takes offers from various online sites and shows you the best deals. good luck!

How difficult it is to travel to india from atlanta with 2 kids?
I have 2 kids 2 yr and 4 yr I want to go to India with them. Just want to know how difficult it can be to travel with them

Answer 1 :
Well a few 2 years ago I went with my 2 year old brother. He wasn't that bad, and so now he is 4. I think he would be ok. But things are different there so they may find it different. And time change is different to so they could be moody. And what a coinsodince when I went to India I was living in Atlanta at the time!!!
Answer 2 :
no more difficult than travelling anywhere with young children. my late husband and i took our 2 boys, aged 3 1/2 and 2 from Australia to India which necessitated a stopover of 1 night and several plane changes etc and had no trouble at all, mind you that was in the early 70's and things are much improved since then. most airline hostesses are sympathetic and very helpful particularly as you are by yourself and airlines do provide things to amuse children like colouring in books etc. as we had no idea what to expect we packed a number of their favourite games and toys in a small bag but in actual fact did not need them as they were more fascinated with the new stuff. why not ring the airlines, customer service or similar and ask them what they provide etc so you have some guidelines to work from. remember their passports (my children were on mine) and don't forget the visa requirements for you all. don't stress, enjoy the trip there are people there to help you.
Answer 3 :
the good thing is there is so much of baggage in india that....a women travelling with baggage is no big deal.... well look at the brighter side...atleast the so called decent cultured indian guys from cultural respectable famil wont molest you since you have baggage

With the price fuel rising every day there is no cheap way. How about a bicycle? All you need is a few bucks and a bike.
Answer 2 :
One way fares are about 219.00 on a non stop such as Air Tran. US Air about 168.00 via Charlotte. Budget rent a car about 82.93 for 1 one way rental including tax but not gas. Craigs List - you can post ride wanted. Good luck

About does anyone who resides in Atlanta have any travel tips for me in the Atlanta area

Does anyone who resides in Atlanta have any travel tips for me in the Atlanta area?
What about in and around Turner Field?
Atlanta - 4 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Be careful. Last time I drove through, they were still clearing things up after the Tornado that passed through.
Answer 2 :
Get a good road map. The exits are kinda confusing if youre not from here( i-75 and I-85 are one road, called the downtown connector). Consider using the marta rail system if youre going to a braves game.(As a bonus, you'll have additional time to sober up if youve been sitting in the all-you-can-drink section.)
Answer 3 :
Well, what exactly do you mean by travel tips? Because the exits in Atlanta are so confusing (they can often overlap if you're not careful), make sure you plan out your trip ahead of time, and not when you're sitting in traffic on I-75. If you want to do something in and around Turner Field, there are tons of good restaurants around there. If you want to be in Turner Field, there's a lot to do before and after the game (especially if you're a drinker... ha). Try www.accessatlanta.com. This site absolutely rocks for finding stuff to do in the Atlanta area. Good luck!
Answer 4 :
Umm just be careful of shady people and get used to traffic and MARTA ( the train system)

About I want to travel from Atlanta,GA to North Wilkesboro,NC via train. What is the closest city and the cost

I want to travel from Atlanta,GA to North Wilkesboro,NC via train. What is the closest city and the cost?
Original question was answered telling me to fly to CLT however, Greensboro is closer via Delta. The fare is too expensive and I would like to consider Amtrak and know what the closest city would be to Wilkesboro, NC, the cost and the schedule and the travel time involved. My next consideration would be via bus, the cost, the schedule, number of stops and the travel time.
Geography - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Amtrak can get you from Atlanta to Alexandria VA, to High Point, NC to Winston-Salem NC. The fare is about $170, and it'll take about 11 hours. I don't think that Amtrak stops in Wilkesboro.
Answer 2 :
The Amtrak crescent goes from Atlanta to Charlotte, NC (258 miles) in a little over 5 hours for $49. You would be about 86 miles from North Wilkesboro. The Amtrak continues on to Kannapolis,High Point and Greensboro, which are a few miles closer, but certainly not worth the extra time on the train. There is no train service to Wilkesboro. The biggest problem is that the train arrives in Charlotte at 1:40 in the morning making it hard to find services. The train station closes at midnight so no one will be there to help you. If someone can drive over and pick you up it would be a lot easier. The Greyhound bus is faster than the train (it goes from Atlanta to Charlotte in as little as 4:15 at night) but is not as comfortable. On the other hand you can probably come into the city at a more reasonable time. ------------------------------------------------------------------ You know, that town of N. Wilkesboro is just too small (pop 4000). It doesn't even have a bus station. I think you should take the train to Charlotte and see if you can get someone to pick you up. Possibly Enterprise Car Rental will meet you in the middle of the night and rent you a car.

About when is the best time to travel to Atlanta

When is the best time to travel to Atlanta?
Spring or Autumn? I'm not sure which is better, since discounts are usually during the summer when the temperatures are high and mosquitoes are everywhere. So which season has more to see (festivals, celebrations, shows) and which is less costly?
Atlanta - 5 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
I've lived here for about 10 years. I prefer Fall over Spring in Atlanta. There are still plenty of festivals in the fall. I don't think any season is cheaper than another here in Atlanta, I think prices all deal with what is going on in the city during the time you visit. Obviously, when there are conventions, or major sporting events, concerts or things like DragonCon, hotels cost more than if there are no major events occurring while you are here.
Answer 2 :
Fall is the best time to visit. The season lasts longer and the weather is milder. Cost of travel is variable.
Answer 3 :
Go in Spring when all the flowers are blooming. I've just came back from there and loved every bit of it!
Answer 4 :
I think it's 'six of one, half dozen of another.' Both seasons are great in Atlanta, with plenty of festivals. (The Dogwood Festival coming up this weekend is one of my favorites - but there are plenty of fall festivals in and around Atlanta as well.) If I was you, I'd base my decision on when it's most convenient to get away -- especially if air fares are comparable. I would assume hotels would be similarly priced, as long as you avoid periods when there are conventions in town -- though, if you stay outside of town, say in Smyrna or Marietta, the rates are probably constant throughout the year, varying more on the day of the week (i.e. hotels appealing to business people tend to drop rates over the weekend.)
Answer 5 :
Had a stopover in Atlanta last autumn and the weather seems fine for me. Check the Airtran for the cheap fare to Atlanta, I flew once with them, quite good!
