Moving to Atlanta and travel a lot for work. Who should I start to fly AirTran or Delta?
Am Premier Executive with United but I'll need to switch carriers so I have more direct flight options. Can anyone give me some insight as to AirTran vs. Delta? Maybe who has better mileage programs, on flight amenities, etc.... Thanks guys!

Answer 1 :
I honestly would go with Delta. Delta has programs with several other airlines including Northwest and Continental for domestic flights, Air Tran does not have any "partners". Another thing to look at is where you will be flying to the most on your travel, check out the maps on each airline to see what destinations they service. I know some of the airlines, in order to gain business from other airlines may help you "upgrade" to a higher level on their frequent flyer accounts. Usually a travel agent can help you with that.
Answer 2 :
Airtran is quick, safe and easy the times i've flew with delta i always got delays
Answer 3 :
When we have the option, we go with Delta. We've gotten a number of free flights to Europe, and have always been satisfied. People complain about an inordinate amount of delays, but we've never found it to be true. My husband and I like their frequent flyer program. This is not to say anything is wrong with Air Tran ... I like that you can book one leg of a trip (not necessarily roundtrip) and get good fares. In summation -- build up miles with Delta, but if it's more expedient, use Air Tran.
Answer 4 :
Delta. AirTran has the reputation as the cheap, no frills carrier (used to be called ValuJet but changed their name after a well-publicized crash). Except about 2 years ago, the prices evened out and they aren't significantly cheaper than Delta any more. But they still feel like a cheap airline.
Answer 5 :
Delta ("Diverting Everybody Living Through Atlanta") would offer you far more destination choices.
