I am an openly gay Black man who will travel to Atlanta. Where should I stay? And where should I go in ATL?
I am 27 years old. Tall, dark, and handsome, lol. This will be my first trip to Atlanta. I may come alone, or with one other person. I will be on a tight budget. Is there a good time of year to come to ATL when the weather is beautiful? When is the Pride Festival?

You are perfect for Atlanta... You should probably stay around the midtown area, it is pretty hip, full of young people, known for gays, and pretty safe. However, to be in Atlanta, you would probably need to rent a car or have someone here who can drive you around. We have cab service here, but you have to call them first wherever you are and prices could be high after a week visit or so. If you're here only for a weekend, then I wouldn't worry about it. Clubs you should consider is Compound, which is hip and has a great crowd. For Drinks...Strip, Twist, or Shout have a good crowd if you want to mingle. The Buckhead, virginia highlands area is also great for bar hopping or clubbing (buckhead would be more gay ppl than VH). There are also gay clubs and bars, which I don't know, but I'll find out for you from my gay friends. :) You should come now before it gets cold, and Atl CAN get cold. If you can't, then wait until the spring (april is perfect). Definitely, bring a friend, you'll have more fun here, Atlanta is not somewhere like nyc where you can wander, eat, and have fun by yourself. Besides, having someone with you, you'll be able to share more costs. Btw, if you get bored, drop by lenox mall and phipps plaza, lots of hot guys for you especially during the festival. (I worked at the mall for two years..trust me on this :) Have FUN~~ EDIT: ok, here are a couple of gay bars and clubs you can try: Wetbar Red Chair
Answer 2 :
Buckhead, Piedmont Park, and Midtown. Spring is amazing and that's the festival used to be.
Answer 3 :
I feel that anytime is a good time to travel to Atlanta--cold or hot because there are places to go that could be outdoors like Centennial Park when Christmas time comes or indoors like the CNN Center or Underground Mall or any mall. You can easily get on the Marta train and go anywhere. Check out www. atlanta.net. I don't go to many clubs but I will in the future. I hope that you will have fun.
Answer 4 :
come for PRIDE which is in June the weather is comfortable and clothes are few and far between. You'll have a great time. Please plan on having about 1000 room, car and spending $$
Answer 5 :
ummm a gay bar

to do in Atlanta, 1. Lenox mall is HUGE you can always go shopping. 2. The Aquarium 3. Braves Games 4. High Museum of Art 5. Nice mother daughter lunch spots in buckhead. I love high tea at the ritz, with their little sandwiches, but you will both need a dress. Also, Prime, the Bucket shop, and Twist! 6. there is a Hard Rock cafe if you want some touristy stuff. 7. White water 8. Six Flags 9. Stone mountain hike the mountain and bring a pic-nic to the lazer show. 10. The Varsity is a must! 11. The zoo is amazing. I have been to zoo's all over the world and i think Atlanta has the best. 12. You can go to the movies at Perimeter Mall. NOT in the mall but across the street. 13. JOEY D's oakroom is a great place for mother daughter lunch. they have a patio and amazing salads. Get the House dressing. YUM! 14. you can go to lake lanier and rent a sail boat or just have someone take you out on a boat. try Barefoot Sailing Club

About how much gas will i have to by to travel from chicago to atlanta driving round trip

How much gas will i have to by to travel from chicago to atlanta driving round trip?

Answer 1 :
a sh*tload ! Gas is so expensive now! it's 4.25 in Chicago!
Answer 2 :
It depends what kind of car you drive, how you drive, what route you take, which gas stations you stop at.
Answer 3 :
First of all you would need to know How many MPG's (miles per gallon) your vehicle gets. Then 2nd you need to know how many miles it is from Chicago to Atlanta and from Atlanta back to Chicago. You would take the total miles (round trip) and divide that number by the MPG's (miles per gallon) your vehicle gets. This will tell you how many gallons of gas you are going to need. Multiply the number of gallons needed by the $ amount gas costs and thats how much it will cost you!!
Answer 4 :
Go to http://maps.google.com/ and click Get Directions. Enter your starting address and your destination address and click the "get directions" button to find out how many miles you need to go (one way). Multiply it by two to get the total miles. Now figure out how many miles per gallon your car gets on the highway - you can also use google for this. Just do a google search for the year, make and model of your car followed by "MPG" and you should find a website with your cars gas milage. From there it's easy to calculate how much gas you will need to purchase to make the trip. Drive Safely!
Answer 5 :
we just made the same trip last week. we have a 2006 tahoe, 16, 30 gallon tanks. maybe we should have taken the chrysler, lol
Answer 6 :
oh wow, If you get about 20 miles to the gallon probably about 500 bucks.

About what is the Cheapest way to Travel from Philadelphia to Atlanta

What is the Cheapest way to Travel from Philadelphia to Atlanta?
Taking a plane would be too much for me, so my options have become taking Amtrak Train ($166) or Greyhound Bus ($133). Does anyone know any other possible Train or Bus lines that maybe cheaper, even if it's by 5 dollars? I'm kind of on a budget. I'm not looking for answers like taking a bike, skating, etc, lol. Thanks in advanced for anyone who can help.

Answer 1 :
Amtrak from Philly to Atlanta starts at $106 but will go up on peak travel days or if you're booking just a week or two in advance. If your travel dates are flexible, try a couple dates at amtrak.com to see if you can get a lower fare. Also try the link below for other discounts. There's no other train service between those cities.
Answer 2 :
Too much, indeed. Or rather too much, my a$$! Airtran and Delta have $80 airfare from Philly to Atlanta. Happy flying.
Answer 3 :
There's DEFINITELY a cheaper way to fly there. Atlanta is a HUGE airport and almost every carrier has gates there. Spirit Air will get you there from Atlantic City for around $70 (I don't know when you're leaving). Plus, it only costs $8 to get to AC from 30th Street Station by train
