Well, I know that they have a HUGE holiday over in Japan called Golden Week. Apparently, many of their business' are closed and it's a time when families get together. I don't know when that week is, but look up the date because it's best advised not to go during that time.
Answer 2 :
For the route, you will probably have to do something like Atlanta (ATL) to Chicago (ORD) then first fly to Osaka (KIX). Once in Japan, then you take a domestic flight to Okinawa (OKA). I suggest to book everything through an agent with a package. The only time to not go is late Aug-Sept-Oct during the typhoon season.
Answer 3 :
Okinawa has its own climate, different from other parts of Japan. Be warned that general weather description about Japan is based on Tokyo. Rainy season (tsuyu) comes to Okinawa one month earlier (from mid May to the end of June) so I suggest best date would be Feb, Mar Apr. As someone said, avoid 29 April to 5 May as this is major holiday season (golden Week) and pretty difficult to book domestic flights and hotels, although none of business is closed especially for the tourist.

As a life-long resident of Atlanta, here is my suggestion: As you come north towards Atlanta, take I-285 around the West side of the city. This is usually the least congested area of interstate in the city. But, as a precaution, I would advise not to be travelling in/around Atlanta from 7am-9am or 4pm-7pm as these are the worst hours of 'rush hour'.

The airport you are looking for is code ATL. The airport is called Atlanta Hartsfield. Good luck to you and your family. I suspect there are no direct flights fm Bagdad, rather you would fly to another major city in Europe then to Atlanta or perhaps through New York or Washington...which are the major airport terminus fm Europe.
Answer 2 :
Hartsfield would be the easiest. You may want to check into Birmingham, or Chattanooga. They are within 100 miles of Atlanta, and are major airports.

Amtraks sites are hard to use. I find it best to CALL them . Here is a page with their numbers. You can probably make the reservations by phone. They can also send you booklets with the routes and schedules that are easier to use than the websites.

i need a cheap ticket to atlanta, should i use a travel agent or buy online?
I am looking for a cheap ticket to atlanta from san francisco, oakland or san jose for this monday. Is it better to go to a travel agent or look online? Do you have any good website suggestions or travel agents?

Answer 1 :
Given the timing being last minute you would put more money into booking your flight through a travel agency than over the internet. Try looking up online any airline deals from Atlanta to SF, Oakland, or San Jose. For cheapest look into Southwest, they usually have a pretty good deal. Also see if Delta (its hub is Atlanta) has any available flights... they'll probably be your best bet (availability wise) due to the number of fleets they have in Atlanta.
Answer 2 :
Do your research online and find the best deal and then call a travel agent and ask them if they can match or beat it. Sometimes a travel agent can find a better rate and sometimes not. If they can't beat the rate all you have lost is a phone call. Good luck.
